Come and join us for a three-day trip to fascinating Czech Capital Prague! It is already good Benvenuto practice since many years that we are organising one longer city trip by airplane per year for our members. True highlights were so far European cities such as Nuremberg, Vienna, Stuttgart, London and Berlin. And now Prague!

Why Prague? Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. Rarely visited by tourists until 1989 and the fall of Communism, Prague is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Europe. The city is located on both sides of the Vltava River in central Bohemia and is now the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. Home to over one million residents, there is also plenty to see and do for tourists. In fact, the city has seen a boom since November 17th, 1989 and the Velvet Revolution which freed the city from communist rule. Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions and much of the city is very beauti-ful. One of the best ways to see it is by simply taking a walk along cobblestone streets while ob-serving the fantastic architecture, churches and buildings that will line any route. In fact, there are over 866 hectares of land listed on the UNESCO World Culture and Natural Heritage Regi-ster. The history of the city actually goes back thousands of years and was first established around 200 BC by the Celts. As a result, visitors can take in sites ranging from the time of the Holy Roman Empire to the Communist party. There is also plenty of food to taste (not to forget the famous Czech beer and the traditional cof-fee houses) and cultural events to take part in as well. Shoppers won’t be left out in the cold, as Prague offers many excellent and reasonably priced goods.

Preliminary programme:

  • Guided walking tour of the city centre One of the best ways to see Prague’s historic city centre, listed in the UNESCO Worl Cultural Heritage Register, is by simply taking a guided walk along cobblestone streets while observing the fantastic architecture, churches and buildings that will line the route, which includes of course the famous Charles Bridge.
  • Boat cruise on River Vltava (Moldova) with Jazz music A boat trip on the Vltava river in the evening is an excellent way to see Prague's best sights illuminated at night whilst listening to Jazz music and dining.
  • Guided tour at Prague Castle hill The original seat of Czech kings — and now, Czech presidents — is a beautiful complex of palaces, churches, towers and gardens offering splendid views over the city. We will also visit the beautiful Saint Vitus Cathedral and tiny houses on Golden lane which will give you a shimme-ring sense of its centuries-old history.
  • Black light Theater Show Prague is also famous for its black light theater shows. The principle of a black light theatre is an optical illusion so-called „black cabinet“, in which the actors dressed in black using props cannot be seen against the black background from the spectators‘ perspective. The props and all the other objects become able to move and they seem to live unique lives of their own.
  • Guided tour of the The National Theatre The National Theatre is the Czech Republic's representative stage, built with funds from a nationwide collection and first opened in 1881, and for the second time in 1883 after a devastating fire. The spectacular exterior and interior decoration, richly embellished with gold, consists of masterpieces of 19th century Czech painters.
  • … and much more Of course there will be enough time to visit the traditional coffee houses and to taste the famous Czech beer and bohemian food as well as for shopping experiences.
