We are an international women’s club based in Varese, Italy. Our purpose is to welcome English-speaking women from all over the world (including Italy of course!) and help them make new friends. We are a non-profit, non-political and non-denominational organisation. No commercial sales are permitted at club functions. The club was started 25 years ago and is run on a voluntary basis. A Board of Directors is elected annually and funding is drawn from membership fees and local business donations. We welcome women of all nationalities.

A monthly coffee morning, free for members, is our principal meeting time and is a great opportunity for members to catch up with friends and make new ones. Most Monthly Meetings have a theme, which is decided by the board at the beginning of the year. The themes are communicated in the club’s Newsletter, The Voice of Varese, which members receive free each month, detailing activities and events taking place. The club organises a variety of activities during the month, many of which are of a cultural or informative nature, while others are involve sports. Members are also free to introduce new activities.

Activities:

• Newcomers Coffee Morning held once a month.
• English Library at Bodio Lomnago where 2000 books in English can be taken out.
• Fundraising for our selected charities. The chosen charities for the year 2011/12 are Il Ponte del Sorriso and Antares.
• Language Groups: French, Spanish and German conversation groups.
• Special Activities: Guided walking tours; trips to castles, cities, villas, exhibitions and holiday activities.
• International Cookery Exchange: Groups of different nationalities meet at each other's homes presenting something delicious from their country.
• Other activities: Patchwork and Crafters Group, Mums & Tots, Walking Groups, Running and Nordic Walking.
