Art Lectures - Lecture VII: 8th MayRenaissance Genius Part II: Raphael, Titian and the Venetian School! We end our Grand Tour of European Art by taking a closer look at the 16th century. Masters of atmosphere, colour and poetry will feed your imaginative world! The course consists of seven lectures covering the main artistic movements. An introduction to the history of european art and great masters of the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th century. The first lecture focuses on the methods of observation and interpretation of a work of art; examples from all artistic genres will be studied according to line, colour, rhythm and iconography. The succeeding lectures will review the most important developments in painting and sculpture from the dawn of the Italian Renaissance to the revolutionary French Avant-garde.
Lectures are held in English. They will have duration of approx. 90 minutes and shall be illustrated by a rich and comprehensive series of full colour slides, slide sheet and bibliography for further reading. Tuesday, May, 8th, 10.30 am |
